Walnut Bread

Walnut Soda bread from Inchydoney

Ingredients

  • 225g Plain Flour
  • 225g Extra Coarse Wholemeal Flour
  • 56g Jumbo Porridge Oats
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 56g Sugar
  • 3 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 ½ tsp Bread Soda
  • 1 Whole Egg
  • 600ml Milk
  • 2 Handfuls Walnuts
  • 100ml Black Treacle

Directions

  1. preheat oven to 160°c
  2. Mix all of the dry ingredients
  3. Whisk milk and eggs together
  4. Add milk, eggs, walnuts and treacle to dry mix and mix well
  5. Grease your tin lightly and line the bottom of the tin with parchment paper
  6. Place the mixture into the tin
  7. Scatter Porridge Oats over top
  8. Bake for approximately 50 minutes
  9. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool
