Ingredients
- 45g unsalted butter
- 28g all-purpose flour
- Black pepper to taste
- 475ml milk
- 128g shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 medium thinly sliced potatoes
- 2 Red onion, diced
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350° C
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
- Stir in flour and pepper until smooth.
- Gradually add milk.
- cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted.
- Add potatoes and onion.
- Transfer to a baking dish, cover and bake for 1 hour.
- Uncover and make for another bake for 30-40 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
