10 MinutesI grew up with a large number of cooking apple trees in the garden, which meant I spent a lot of time eating apple scones.
Ingredients
- 250g self-raising flour
- 60g unsalted butter
- 2 tbs of caster sugar
- 4 tbs of milk
- 2 small cooking apples, grated
Directions
- Preheat oven to 220 Celsius
- Cut the butter into cubes and keep in the freezer before using.
- Sieve flour into a bowl
- Cut-Rub the butter into flour until it’s like breadcrumbs.
- Add the apple and sugar and mix.
- Add the milk and mix into a ball
- Roll out the mixture on a floured surface.
- Cut circles out with a cutter and place them on a greased baking tray.
- Brush down with milk.
- Bake for 10 minutes in the oven or until golden
- Allow to cool on a wire rack
